Instructions to Authors

It is our intent to print the Proceedings of ECHO directly from the CAMERA ready manuscripts submitted.

 

The following format is suitable for conference proceedings published

e.g. in Acta Polytechnica Scandinavica as is mentioned in our conference call.

 

Paper: A4 (white)

 

Lenght: 10 pages

 

Text: Text should be set in Times New Roman font (or equivalent) at a pitch of around 10 characters/inc. 10 points for text and 14 for titles.

 

Number of rows: The preferred amount of rows and empty rows together on a page is around 50 rows, that is, singled spaced.

 

Margins: DOUBLE columns text. Top, left and right 25 mm. Bottom 40 mm.

First page top margin 40mm.

 

First page: Top margin 40 mm. Title centered and thickened upper case letters (14 points). Two empty rows. Name(s) of the author(s), centered, text-type like in subtitles. Empty row. Organization, centered, text like base-text. Two empty rows, Title etc.

 

Headings: The main title should be set in upper case letters and be centered. Other titles should be set in lower case letters and first letter in upper case. No numbering in the titles. One hierarchy level of section headings is preferred. Letters are in all titles thickeded but not underlined and two points larger than the text. The first running title should be "Abstract" and the second "Keywords". Before every title two

empty rows and after a title one empty row.

 

Page numbering: Pages are numbered by the editor in the bottom margin. The Author should number the pages from 1 to 10 on back side in an unambigious way using pencil.

 

Illustrations: black on white line drawings. All illustrations should be inserted in the text and be numbered and referred in the text.

 

References: Reference in the text should be cited as follows:

 

(Clinton, 1998) or (Clinton, 1998, 175), (Busch and Clinton, 1988) or (Clinton, H. et al, 1978). References should be listed in alphabetical order (first author's surname) at the end of the paper under title "References". A book reference is as follows:

 

Clinton, B. (1998); Emergence; Basil Blackwell

 

or

 

Clinton, B. (1998); Emergence; Basil Blackwell (p. 175)

 

Pages referred can be mentioned either in text reference or in reference list or in both as is customary.
